Edit photos online with Pixlr
To access the editor you must go to its official website Pixlr.com. Once there, you will have 2 versions of the software: Pixlr X and Pixlr E.
The first one (Pixlr X) is focused on simple touch-ups such as filters, resizing, rotating, cropping, color adjustments, including text, etc. While the second is intended for advanced users.
This tutorial on editing photos online is based on the second version, since we will only use it for retouching photos.
Open the photo
When you open Pixlr X, you will find the following interface.
On the left, you will have the option to choose the photo you want to edit from an URL or from your PC.
After this, you will see the following work area:
- Canvas.
- Tools.
- Layers and masks of the canvas.
- Zoom.
You already know the interface. Now then, we will use the image of the canvas so that you learn how to use certain tools of this free photo editor.
Resize a photo
For this, go to "Properties" and click "Resize image".
Then, a box will appear with the width and height of the photo, it is there where you can modify the dimensions.
When you set the values, then click "Apply". It is recommended to keep the proportions by clicking on "Constrain proportions".

By placing an effect, you can modify its intensity on the bar just below the effect; with a scale that goes from 0 to 100. And, if you don't like the result you can remove the effect just by clicking "Cancel".
On the other hand, the Conny effect (medium), gives the photo a duller style with reddish colors.
While the Gordon effect (left), it gives a dull look with yellow tones, which gives that old photo appearance. There are also the most extreme effects, such as the Mozak effect (right), which by the way, does not sit well with this image, but serves as an example.
In short, you have a wide variety of effects at your disposal. It is all a matter of experimenting with the effects, until you find the desired appearance.
Adjust color
Unlike the previous option, you will find several settings that you can modify to measure! At your whim!
So you can edit your photos online like a professional. In this section, you can put the photo in black and white, or invert the colors, all with one click.
You can also modify the temperature, intensity, saturation, contrast, brightness, shadows and much more.
